Holiday card-making session on tap at arts center

Store-bought cards, no matter the occasion, are expensive and often don’t convey the heartfelt message of the sender.
The Village Center for the Arts is offering the public a solution to that – a holiday card-making session Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Patrons are invited to visit the 12 Main St. nonprofit arts center to make four or five homemade cards for the holiday.
“We have boatloads of stuff to (make cards),” said VCA Executive Director Jayson Roberts.
“We’ve got cut outs, card stock, specialty papers, stickers, gems and jewels that can be glued to paper, and stamps,” Roberts said.
All materials will be provided for the event, which will cost $20 per person.
Roberts said the VCA designed the event with the idea of bringing people together at a festive time of year so people can collaborate and be creative, all while encouraging the concept of unique gifts.
“We want to give people an opportunity to come out and make homemade cards that are really cool,” he said.
“It’s a time to be creative and make something that is gift oriented,” he said.
