Creative expression shines at arts festival

Music, art and dance come together on Village Green

The New Milford Commission on the Art presented its first Arts Festival Saturday on the Village Green. Nearly 50 vendors from town and the region participated in the event.

Deborah Rose/Oliver Donel, 6, of California, grandson of artist Robert Keating, who is a member of Gallery 25 and Creative Arts Studio in town, peruses jewelry by Flame Licked Designs. Through the process of flameworking, the artist sculpts molten glass to form beads and jewelry.

Deborah Rose is a lifelong New Milford resident with more than 25 years in community journalism as a writer and photographer. Most recently, she served as editor of a local publication.
