Town celebrates dedication of Blue Star Memorial Marker

A new marker in New Milford honors all men and women that served in the United States Armed Services. On Wednesday, which was Flag Day, the Garden Club of New Milford dedicated a Blue Star Memorial Marker outside Roger Sherman Town Hall on Main Street. The project is part of the club’s 100th anniversary celebration this year. In addition to the dedication ceremony, the Town of New Milford recognized four World War II veterans, Charles Chapin, Gordon Hills, George Schneider and George Pouder with certificates of appreciation for their service.

Deborah Rose/The E. Paul Martin Meeting Room was packed with guests for the Wednesday’s ceremony and dedication.
