Halloween festivities planned in New Milford
The Village Green in New Milford is about to be transformed into a Halloween haven.
Two big events, Halloween on the Green, and Trunk or Treat, are both set for Oct. 26.
Halloween on the Green will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and feature an assortment of offerings for families.
Downtown businesses that have a paper pumpkin in their window will welcome trick-or-treaters for the duration of the event.
In addition, a performance by Crows Nest Coven, a gathering of good witches, will be held at 12:30 p.m. and a Halloween costume parade is set for 2 p.m.
Games, a monster petting zoo, provided by the Woman’s Club of Greater New Milford, and music on the bandstand will also be offered at the event.
Later in the day, New Milford Parks & Recreation will present its annual Trunk or Treat from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Local businesses, organizations and families that registered in advance will set up their vehicles – decorated for the holiday – and hand out candy and other giveaways to trick-or-treaters.
