Annual online giving campaign to support local nonprofits

NEW MILFORD, Conn. — Nonprofits in the community will soon team up to raise funds for their causes during a special two-day online giving campaign.
Nearly 30 nonprofit organizations in New Milford and Gaylordsville will participate in 13th annual Give Local Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills.
The 36-hour online campaign is hosted by Connecticut Community Foundation, with presenting sponsor Ion Bank Foundation.
Participants of this year’s event will meet April 29 at 9 a.m. in front of Roger Sherman Town Hall, where Mayor Pete Bass will present a proclamation for the start of the event.
Repsresentatives from the Connectiut Community GFoundation will also be on hand.
Give Local Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills has raised $17.2 million since its inception and has supported hundreds of local nonprofit organizations.
This year’s campaign will run April 29 at 7 a.m. through April 30 at 7 p.m. at https://www.givelocalccf.org. Donors can search for organizations they would like to support online.
Financial support from sponsors and the Foundation will provide nonprofits an opportunity to earn bonus dollars for every donor they secure.
As in past years, Give Where You Live is coordinated in an effort to lift up all New Milford nonprofits during the online campaign.
Organizers of the local effort hope participating Give Local nonprofits will, in their social media posts during Give Local, mention that there are other New Milford nonprofits on the Give Local website and the importance of supporting those organizations as well.
