The John Glover Noble House
Built in the 1820s, this is a Federal Georgian style house constructed with local bricks, glass, and ironworks. The two-and-a half-story building contains four fireplaces, a front door flanked by pilasters, a portico with round columns, and a Palladian window. It was described by Edna Ferber in her 1930s novel "American Beauty" as the most beautiful house in America. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. It is currently an antique shop.
